"I Came Alone" showcases the Pop/Rock side of The Curve but it still features the key elements of the group, powerful guitars and rhythm section, and nice melody. The laidback feel of the vocals in the first verse is only the calm before the storm. The lyrics refer to the loneliness you can sometimes experience even though you are well looked after by friends and family.
